Loving your own inner child

Within you is a young child.
A child in need of love just like the children you birthed.
She feels and needs things just like all children,
And she is always there.
Sometimes she hides away and sometimes she speaks up loudly,
And all the time she wants your love and your acceptance.

Bring her into your fold.
Mother her as you do your own children.

When she is hurting, hold her like you would your children.
When you cuddle them to sleep, cuddle her to sleep as well.
When you share 'I Love You' rituals with your children,
share them with her as well.

She needs love, acceptance, gentleness and a warm embrace,
She needs allowances and forgiveness and for you to remember that she is also a child.
And when you share these things with her-
When you mother your own inner child...
She shares love right back in the ways she knows best.

She imbues you with vitality, youthfulness, possibility and play.
She brings healing and wholeness and
She gratefully reminds you that you are a beautiful mother.

So welcome her into your family,
When you think of each of your children, add her in there too

And enjoy the unfolding of love that cascades it's way out from the child within you, onto your children of birth and beyond.
