What if you had such a deep and clear connection with your intuition that you knew, without a doubt when something was true for you and your child and was the next step on your path?
What if your intuition became the go to, to bedrock from which you make your parenting decisions?
We have been trained for generations and generations to mistrust our intuition and focus more on reasoning, research and expert advice. We're not suggesting we throw those things away, they have their place, but what if they aren't meant to be in charge?
Every mother, every child, every family and every new moment they are in is incredibly unique and complex that complexity is something that cannot be fully accounted for within any one theory, book, philosophy or piece of advice... it can't be navigated with the mind alone.
I (Kaya) have a story to share on the power of intuition and please know that while my story involves me following my intuition into giving birth at home without medical intervention, intuition doesn't judge any options as more 'right' or 'wrong' than others... instead, it guides us in and through our unique and contextually relevant truth.
I have been told a similar, very powerful story of a woman whose intuition guided her to give birth in hospital with lots of medical intervention (despite people around her expecting she would birth at home) and that guidance saving her child's life.
My waters broke (or leaked a lot) 6 days before he was born and after a few days, this long time between waters leaking and no baby being born was raising concerns in many well intentioned people around me. They were concerned for our safety and I remember being asked at what point would I go to a hospital.
It was easy for me to begin to freak out, doubt myself and worry that I should just get to a hospital (and that did happen a few times)...
but I then made it a practice to take space for myself and tune in to him and into my own body and inner whispers and each time I did that I just KNEW we were ok and safe as we were, all was ok.
(and as well as those tune ins we were also having regular physical checks of his heart beat, my blood pressure etc- consulting intuition doesn't have to exclude everything else)
The answer to the 'when would I go to a hospital?' question was, so clearly, 'when I know we are no longer safe and healthy'.
Those 6 days were the most profound deep dive into intuitive communication that I have ever experienced in my life, anytime I began to freak out or lose my centre a little, I'd take space, meditate inwards on him and me and our connection and every time I got the message that all was ok and he'd come when he's ready.
The more I did that, the more deeply I surrendered the stronger my connection with my inner guidance became. I remember, the eve before he was born (he was born at 12:10am) I went to bed saying 'I don't feel any urgency anymore, he can stay inside another week if he has to'... and then a few hours later I woke up, laboured for 2 awesome, amazing hours and a fully healthy baby boy arrived into the world.
Strengthen your connection with your intuition, wise mama and TRUST YOURSELF... you have way more connection with your intuition than you realise and you can let it lead you.
